Jeannie Mai is not letting her divorce from Jeezy get in the way of her holiday spirit. The TV host shared a sweet video of her and her daughter Monaco preparing a turkey for Thanksgiving, showing off their mother-daughter bond.
“Monaco and I wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving!!” Mai, 44, captioned the Instagram video on Thursday, November 23. In the clip, Mai is teaching Monaco, 22 months, how to dress a turkey. The adorable toddler helps her mom by stuffing the bird with herbs and rubbing it with butter. Mai also gives Monaco a kiss and tells her she loves her.
Mai welcomed Monaco with Jeezy — whose real name is Jay Wayne Jenkins — in January 2022. The couple had tied the knot in March 2021 in an intimate ceremony at their home in Atlanta. However, their marriage did not last long, as Jeezy filed for divorce in October 2023, citing irreconcilable differences. According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Jeezy requested joint legal and physical custody of Monaco and asked the court to determine child support and alimony.
While Mai celebrated the holiday with their daughter, Jeezy, 46, stayed off social media on Thursday and didn’t reveal his Thanksgiving plans. The rapper has not publicly commented on his divorce from Mai, but he did share a cryptic message on Instagram on November 9, writing, “Sometimes you have to lose in order to win again.”
This is hardly the first time Mai has shown off her baby girl since her and Jeezy’s split. Last month, she referred to Monaco as her “North Star” during an interview on Sherri Shepherd’s Sherri podcast. She also posted a photo of Monaco wearing a Halloween costume on Instagram, writing, “My little pumpkin.” Mai has also been focusing on her career, as she recently returned to co-hosting The Real after taking a maternity leave.
