The couple had previously accused an unnamed senior royal of expressing "concern" about Prince Archie's skin colour during an interview with Oprah Winfrey ². Scobie's book has added to the public debate about who in the royal family might harbour such racially charged views ². However, UK laws have prevented him from revealing the names of those involved ².
It is not the first time that Meghan Markle has been involved in a legal battle. She is reportedly considering suing Omid Scobie for invasion of privacy for sharing very private details about her life and Prince Harry’s life in his new book, Endgame ¹.
