Paula Abdul, the former judge of American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance, has filed a lawsuit against Nigel Lythgoe, the executive producer of American Idol and her former co-judge on So You Think You Can Dance, for alleged sexual assault. The lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles on Friday1. According to documents obtained by The Blast, Abdul, 61, claimed that Lythgoe, 74, had sexually assaulted her on more than one occasion, and also ‘verbally insulted and belittled’ her1.
Abdul explained that in 2001, she was approached by FOX to appear as a judge in an American version of the singing competition series called Pop Idol - which Lythgoe also helped produce1.
