Ryan Gosling may have won the Critics Choice Award for Best Original Song for his track I’m Just Ken from the animated film Barbie, but his reaction was anything but celebratory.

The Canadian actor, 43, was seen on camera with a stoic expression as the announcer declared his song the winner, beating out contenders such as No Time To Die by Billie Eilish and Shallow by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper.

Gosling, who voiced the role of Ken in the film, did not get up to accept the award or give a speech. Instead, he remained seated and looked around the room with a puzzled look on his face, as if he could not believe what he had just heard.

The hilarious moment quickly went viral on social media, with fans and celebrities alike commenting on Gosling’s priceless reaction.

“Ryan Gosling’s face when he won Best Song for Barbie is the best thing I’ve ever seen,” tweeted one user.

“Ryan Gosling is all of us when we heard he won Best Song for Barbie,” wrote another.

Even Barbie herself, voiced by Margot Robbie, chimed in on the fun, posting a video of herself and Gosling singing I’m Just Ken on Instagram, with the caption: “Congrats to my co-star and friend Ryan Gosling on his Critics Choice Award for Best Original Song! You’re the best, Ken!”

I’m Just Ken is a catchy pop song that features Gosling and Robbie as Ken and Barbie, singing about their perfect life as plastic dolls. The song was written by Gosling himself, along with Justin Timberlake and Max Martin.

Barbie, directed by Greta Gerwig, is a satirical comedy that follows the adventures of the iconic doll and her friends as they navigate the modern world. The film was a critical and commercial success, earning rave reviews and over $1 billion at the box office.

The Critics Choice Awards, which honor the best in film and television, were held on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. The full list of winners can be found here.
