Meghan Markle's former friend Lizzie Cundy has criticized the claims made in the book Endgame, calling them a 'firework attack' on the Monarchy. The book has been at the center of a royal race row, with Omid Scobie suggesting that King Charles and Princess Kate were the two royals who made racial comments about Archie, the son of Meghan and Prince Harry. In a 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan claimed there had been "concerns and conversations about how dark [Archie's] skin might be when he was born."

The couple explained they wouldn't be identifying the members of the family but insisted it was not the late Queen Elizabeth or Prince Philip. In a new book, Endgame, Omid Scobie, who has previously been briefed by Meghan, suggested that it was the King and Catherine who made the comments. However, Meghan had said she would not name the individuals who are said to be King Charles and the Princess of Wales.
