A video of a 67-year-old man who claimed to be the former lover of socialite Caren Nyota, popularly known as Manzi wa Kibera, has gone viral on social media, sparking sympathy and outrage from netizens.
The man, identified as Mzee Juma, was seen looking tired and emaciated while sitting outside a shack in one of the city slums, where he said he lives after being abandoned by his lover.
He said he met Manzi wa Kibera on Facebook and they started a relationship that lasted for six months. He said he spent a lot of money on her, buying her clothes, shoes, and even paying for her rent.
However, he said things changed when she became famous on social media for her flashy lifestyle and controversial posts. He said she stopped picking his calls and blocked him on all platforms, leaving him heartbroken and depressed.
He said he still loves her and hopes she will come back to him, but he also feels betrayed and used by her.
However, Manzi wa Kibera has dismissed his claims, saying he is lying and cheating on her. Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, she said she broke up with him after she found out he had another woman in his house.
She said he was not faithful to her and he was only after her money. She said she has moved on with her life and she does not want anything to do with him.
She also accused him of tarnishing her name and reputation, saying he is only seeking attention and sympathy from the public.
She said she is happy and successful, and she does not need a man to validate her.
She urged her fans to ignore his allegations and focus on her positive and inspiring content.
