Post Malone, the Grammy-nominated rapper and singer, confessed that he was feeling nervous ahead of his performance at the Super Bowl LVIII, which will take place on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
The 28-year-old star, who is known for his chart-topping hits such as Circles, Rockstar, and Sunflower, opened up about his anxiety during The One Party by Uber, which was held at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas on Friday night.
According to Us Weekly, Post Malone told the crowd of celebrities and VIPs that he was “scared s***less” to sing America The Beautiful at the pre-game show, which will also feature Demi Lovato performing the national anthem and The Weeknd headlining the halftime show.
“I’m very nervous, but I’m very excited,” he said. “I hope I don’t mess up.”
He then proceeded to perform some of his hits, including Congratulations, Psycho, and Wow, and thanked the audience for their support.
Post Malone, who has been nominated for 10 Grammy Awards in his career, has been a fan of football since his childhood, and has expressed his admiration for the Dallas Cowboys, his hometown team.
He has also collaborated with some of the NFL stars, such as Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs, who will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Super Bowl LVIII.
Post Malone and Mahomes teamed up for a Bud Light commercial, which aired during the AFC Championship Game on January 21, 2024, and showed them playing beer pong and singing along to Post Malone’s songs.
Post Malone has also shown his support for Mahomes on social media, tweeting “let’s goooooo” after the Chiefs secured their spot in the Super Bowl LVIII.
Post Malone will join a long list of illustrious artists who have performed America The Beautiful at the Super Bowl, such as Ray Charles, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, and Yolanda Adams.
