Swizz Beatz has taken a nostalgic journey back to his formative years in New York City, sharing a series of photographs from his old room in the '90s, where he claims to have created DMX’s iconic track "Ruff Ryders' Anthem." On Monday (May 27), the 45-year-old producer posted the photos on Instagram, offering fans a glimpse into his early days.
"Throwback Monday," he captioned the post. "Just a young man from the BRONX."
The post drew admiration from many of his peers and followers. Fat Joe commented, “Coming from where I’m from – Anthony Hamilton,” while Metro Boomin remarked, “ICONIC! And inspiring!!!!”
Swizz Beatz, known for his influential role in the hip-hop industry, has significantly expanded his ventures over the years. Recently, he collaborated with his wife, Alicia Keys, to curate an art exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum. Titled "GIANTS: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys," the exhibit showcases their private collection, featuring works by renowned artists such as Gordon Parks, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Kehinde Wiley.
The exhibition, which opened in February and runs until July 7, highlights monumental works, including the largest piece ever by Meleko Mokgosi. It aims to inspire "giant conversations" about society and celebrate Black culture.
