Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o has surprised her fans with a video of her eating viper snake meat during her visit to Benin.

The Wakanda star, who is of Kenyan origin, shared the video on her Instagram account, where she has over 10 million followers. In the video, she is seen holding a piece of snake meat on a fork, while looking nervous and hesitant.

She captioned the video: “Viper anyone? I finally faced my fear and ate snake! #Benin #PDA #SnakesOnAPlate #WakandaForever”

Lupita explained that she was in Benin as part of her documentary series “Lupita Nyong’o: Warrior Women”, which explores the lives of female warriors in Africa. She said that she wanted to try the local delicacy of viper snake meat, which is considered a source of strength and vitality.

She also revealed that the snake meat tasted like chicken, and that she enjoyed it after overcoming her initial reluctance. She thanked her host, Mama Adjoa, for preparing the dish and encouraging her to eat it.

The video has received over 2 million views and thousands of comments from her fans. While some of them praised her for being adventurous and brave, others expressed their disgust and shock at her choice of food. Some of them even joked that she was betraying her Wakandan roots by eating snake meat.

Lupita Nyong’o is one of the most celebrated actresses in Hollywood, having won an Academy Award for her role in “12 Years a Slave” in 2014. She is also known for her roles in “Black Panther”, “Us”, and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. She is currently working on a film adaptation of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s novel “Americanah”, which she will also produce and star in.
